What's New
The Bureau of Land Management recently selected Ron Dunton to lead the agency's Office of Pipeline Monitoring. The Office of Pipeline Monitoring is the lead federal agency in the Joint Pipeline Office, a consortium of state and federal agencies sharing similar regulatory or management responsibilities related to oil and gas pipelines in Alaska, most notably the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. The SPCO is the lead state agency in the JPO. Prior to joining BLM's Alaska office as gas pipelines project manager in 2009, Dunton was acting director for the Office of Wildland Fire in Washington, D.C. and deputy state director for Lands and Resources in New Mexico. "Ron's ability to foster cooperation and discussion with diverse groups and agencies will be a valuable asset," said BLM-Alaska Chief Communications Officer Ruth McCoard. Dunton's official start date is Feb. 14.
The State Pipeline Coordinator's Office recently expanded its online presence with all-new web pages in the Alaska Department of Natural Resources website.
